Following the attack by an Afghan individual on the U.S. National Guard, Donald Trump ordered a renewed review of the cases of those who entered the United States after the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban.
However, Arg Times has obtained audio files indicating that Mirza Mohammad Katawazai, the former deputy speaker of Afghanistan’s Parliament, who traveled to the United States in early November on a Special Immigrant Visa, had contacted a U.S. general prior to his trip.
Arg Times is investigating and assessing this communication and is sharing the material with Mirza Mohammad Katawazai.
Upon receiving his response, Arg Times will publish the audio.
Arg Times is also attempting to share the recording with officials in the Donald Trump administration.
After the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, Katawazai remained in Kabul and developed close relations with senior Taliban officials.
He even displayed a photo of Mullah Mohammad Omar, the Taliban’s founding leader, in his home.
He has held official meetings with Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban interior minister, and several other Taliban officials.
